The development of sports activities in the Municipality of  Maritsa has reached a very good level over the years. In all the villages, the municipality has allocated spots for sport. Twelve football clubs has been established in the  villages of Graf Ignatievo, Tsaratsovo, Radinovo, Kostievo, Voyvodinovo, Kalekovets, Krislovo, Manolsko Konare,. Manole,  Rogosh, Skutare. Besides these clubs there are two handball clubs in the village of Trud and a basketball  club in the village of Rogosh , a chess club named “Bobby Fisher” in  Stroevo, an equestrian club in Voyvodinovo.

The teams in the Maritsa Municipality take part in the state games of small settlements in the  following sports: handball, chess, basketball, football, athletics, table tennis. The handball team of  Trud has become a champion six times and a multiple winner of different state championships.

The horse base “Khan Krum” in the village of Voyvodinovo is the largest one on the Balkan Peninsula with its 5000 seats for spectators, a restaurant and a garden. Over the years there have been conducted many European and international contests there.
