The natural resources of the Maritsa Municipality  are its fertile soil, water supplies and its biodiversity. The biggest asset of the municipality is its agricultural land which occupies  81% of the total area.  The soils are mainly alluvial, meadow and alluvial-meadow type. Their combination in conjunction with the temperature sum for the vegetation period of 4400 º C allows the land to grow highyielded, oaks crops, traditional for theThracian Valley. Water resources are represented by surface water - rivers, river currents, open water and sewage irrigation system which occupy 5.46% of the municipal territory. Rivers passing through the Municipality of Maritsa are the Maritsa River, the  Stryama river,  the Potoka river,  the Piasachnik river. In the village of Voyvodinovo there are registrated two drillings for mineral water, which is defined by a laboratory analysis as "table water”
